Healthcare in the United States has become a tricky business. Instead of calling it “health” care, a more accurate term would be to call it “sick” care. There is very little emphasis from the medical profession on having their patients stay healthy. Rather, people only go see their doctor when they are sick or after a condition or illness has developed. Once they go to the doctor, they are typically prescribed one or more medications to treat the symptom of the condition. Rarely do the medications do anything to actually fix the problem so if there is an underlying issue, there’s a good chance it will come back and the process repeats itself.
A great example of this is with type 2 diabetes. Something in the body goes wrong causing the person to not be able to properly regulate blood sugar so their blood sugar goes up. The person is given medication to simply get the symptom of high blood sugar down. There are no medications that actually get rid of the problem or treat what is causing them to not regulate blood sugar. I guess from a business standpoint it would be better not to cure the disease because eventually you’d run out of customers. If you create a medication that “manages” the disease, you then have lifetime customers. Personally I like to take a more natural approach and try to stay healthy by eating right, exercising and going to Apex Medical Group for Chandler chiropractic care.
